From Your Invention to a Filing-Ready Non-Provisional Patent Application

$2,500

Havani IP helps founders and inventors turn technical ideas into professionally prepared patent applications without the cost and complexity of an open-ended law firm engagement.

Our process moves through four clear stages.

1

Tell Us About Your Invention

We begin with an attorney-led invention disclosure video call. A registered patent practitioner will guide the conversation and ask targeted questions to understand:

  • What you created
  • How it works
  • What makes it different
  • The problem it solves
  • Variations that may also be worth protecting

Before the call, you share notes, diagrams, product materials, presentations, prototypes, or AI-generated drafts. AI-generated materials can be helpful starting points, but we believe quality begins with a registered patent practitioner leading the analysis.

2

Havani Develops the Claims

After the call, Havani takes the lead in drafting the patent claims based on the information you provided. The claims define the legal scope of the protection being requested. We identify the core inventive concept, develop the independent claims, and add dependent claims covering important features and variations. We also consider alternative implementations and ways competitors may try to design around the invention. While AI may help organize information or generate preliminary language, Havani leads the claim-drafting process.

3

We Prepare and Review the Application

Once the claim strategy is established, we prepare the remaining sections of the application, which include:

  • A detailed description
  • Background and technical context
  • Drawing descriptions
  • Examples and alternative implementations
  • An abstract
  • Two or Three supporting patent figures

You will receive the draft for review before it is finalized. Because you know your technology best, we ask you to review the application for technical accuracy and provide one consolidated set of comments, corrections, or questions. We will address that feedback and prepare the final version. Our goal is to deliver an application that accurately describes your invention, supports the claims, and is ready to be filed as a U.S. nonprovisional patent application.

4

Receive Your Filing-Ready Package

After you approve the final draft, Havani IP will prepare a filing package based on the information you provided.

You will receive:

  • The completed patent application
  • A document checklist
  • Completed forms that accompany your patent application filing
  • Step-by-step instructions for filing through the USPTO’s website

You will submit the application directly to the USPTO and pay the applicable government fees. This allows you to maintain control of your application while avoiding the ongoing administrative costs of a traditional full-service patent engagement. We walk you step-by-step to ensure it is filed properly. If you wish for us to file your patent application, we charge an additional $2,000 to file it.  Here, we become the primary contact with the Patent Office and forward all Patent Office Correspondence to you as part of the $2000 charge.

Office Action Responses

$500–$2,500

After you file your patent application, it can take one or more years to receive an Office Action from the USPTO. We help you respond to these Office Actions with flat-fee pricing based on the complexity of the response required.

We work closely with you and the examiner to address the issues raised, refine the claims where appropriate, and increase your odds of getting your patent application granted while minimizing the back-and-forth with the Patent Office.
